Dr. William Cleveland received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from
Ross
University
in 1985. His first job was working in an all large animal practice in
Idaho
. While there, he started a small animal medical department for the practice. In 1987 he moved to
Washington
and started working at
Bothell
Pet
Hospital
. He became a business partner in 1988, and five years later he purchased the clinic. Dr. Cleveland enjoys all aspects of canine and feline medicine and surgery, but has special interests in orthopedics and sporting dog medicine.
When he is away from the hospital, Bill spends time working on his farm, gardening, and exploring the outdoors. He enjoys travel and is often involved in family activities with his wife, Debbie, and daughters, Katie and Tori. Their many pets include six horses, one donkey, chickens, goats, sheep, ducks, five dogs (one named Goose and another named Ruddy Duck), and three cats.

Dr. Lesley Kovar obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from
Tufts
University
in 1991. She has been at
Bothell
Pet
Hospital
since 1993. She is interested in all areas of small animal practice, and especially enjoys working with pediatric patients. Prior to veterinary school, she spent six years working at a zoo in
New Jersey
. She is currently the consulting veterinarian as well as a member of the board of directors for Sara's Sanctuary ( an animal sanctuary in
Redmond
Washington)
.
During her time away from the hospital, Lesley pursues her love of the outdoors with skiing, hiking, camping and kayaking. She is an avid craftsman and is especially talented with glass and knitting mediums. Lesley and her husband, Ed, have three children: Jackie, Kyle, and Calvin. Her animal family includes three dogs, two cats, a parrot, and a lizard.

Dr. Shannon Smith is a 2004 graduate of
Washington
State
University's
College
of
Veterinary Medicine
. After three years as an elementary school teacher, she pursued her passion for animals by returning to college to become a veterinarian. She became a part of our team in November 2004. She works with both dogs and cats, with an emphasis on preventative medicine.
Shannon
enjoys bonding with her patients and seeing them through from the puppy/kitten stage to geriatric health.
Shannon and her husband, John, are hard at work raising their baby Anika and remodeling their home with most of their free time. She dotes upon her three big dogs, cat- Jasmine and 2 budgies.

Dr. Kim Hsu received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from
Washington
State
University
in 2003. She was born and raised in
Hawaii
, but made
Seattle
her home after graduation. She practiced in
Seattle
for the two years prior to joining the
Bothell
Pet
Hospital
in July 2005. Kim especially enjoys assisting her clients in maintaining their pets quality of life.
Kim shares her life with her husband Andrew, dogs- Roman and Charlie and two wonderful cats- Phoebe and Joey. She enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and camping in her time away from the hospital.

. She was part of our team for seven years and is greatly missed!

is a group of dedicated, compassionate individuals who work together as a team to ensure each pet receives the best care possible. The receptionists are well trained to help you schedule an appointment for any concern. They strive to keep the hospital running efficiently to assure you are seen in a timely manner. All of our veterinary assistants are highly skilled in a variety of tasks. By attending to the needs of hospitalized patients, assisting the veterinarians, and performing many technical duties, they help to maintain a high level of medical care for every animal.
